Inside Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley AVA is the Applegate Valley sub-AVA, an area formed by the flow of the Little Applegate and Applegate Rivers that wind between the peaks of the Siskiyou Mountains with Jacksonville in the southeast and Grants Pass in the northwest. This area consists of 19 wineries and a total acreage of 278,190 with family-owned, multigenerational farms dominating the landscape.

These working farms approach winemaking from an agricultural perspective informed by decades of working on this land where the soil is infused into their souls. This ethos gives an intimacy to their wines with the winemakers often pouring the wine in their tasting rooms while sharing their vast knowledge of viticulture and family history with visitors. These three standout wineries represent the heritage and passion visitors will discover in the Applegate Valley.
