At Long Walk Vineyard - there's no denying the stunning views.

Kathy O'Leary and her husband Tim bought the property in 2000 and they not only wanted to be a part of a vibrant, growing community and maintain the property's heritage, but they also wanted to grow grapes and make wine.

“We grow a number of south of France, Rhone varieties, that includes Mourvèdre, Syrah, Carignane and Grenache. And we grow about an acre of Zinfandel, primarily because we like Zinfandel and that’s turned out to be a big hit with our customers as well,” Kathy says.

“I’m a big believer in sustainability, things that are organic, that have a soul. We’ve made a lot of decisions about what we plant, where we plant, how we operate and how we build what we’re building,” Kathy says.

Kathy brought on Chris Vanini as Tasting House Manager in 2015.

“We’ve developed a really great team, most amazing staff here. I think that’s made a really great environment and I’ve found if the staff is happy, the customer is happy," Chris says.

The tasting room offers a wine flight or wine by the bottle. You won't find wine by the glass here, Vanini says it allows them to focus on the wine and the tasting experience.

“I think people have found we do give a lot of individualized attention. We take out each pour and talk about the wines as we’re pouring them. We also offer an elevated tasting for those who want a private tour of the property, that’s something that not everyone else has.”

Long Walk is open Thursday through Sunday from 11-4. Reservations aren't required, but recommended.
