A new label, some new wines, and possibly new visitors! It's all happening at Crooked Barn Vineyards in the Applegate Valley this year, and the owners couldn't be more excited. Rogue Valley Wine Country reporter Trish Glose caught up with Marcos and Heidi at their tasting room.

It's all about family at Schmidt Family Vineyards during the holidays. Oh, good food and good wine, too.

The tasting room at Hummingbird Estate is all dressed up for the holidays! The decorations are a big deal for the family. Rogue Valley Wine Country reporter Trish Glose stopped by the estate to talk with Susan and Meghann Walk about keeping family traditions alive.

Del Rio Vineyards started as Del Rio Orchards in 1907 during the "Fruit Boom" that put the Rogue Valley on the map as an agricultural mecca of the West. Decades later in the 1990s the Wallace family began the transformation of their family-farmed estate from orchard to vineyard. Del Rio is today home to 200,000 vines featuring 12 varietals and 17 clones. This year, Del Rio Vineyards turns 25 and now grows around 25 percent of the grapes in Rogue Valley Wine Country. Del Rio Vineyard Estate, located at 52 N. River Road in Gold Hill, Oregon, is proud to announce the opening of their U-Pick Zinnia Flower Farm. Celebrating its 8th year, the flower field is open from now until the first frost of the autumn season.

Rellik Winery is more than just a vineyard; it's an experience. “Walls come down in the summertime, roof comes off, and it goes to being outside again,” says Rellik Winery Managing Member Delando Pegan, referring to the glassed-in patio area. From the time they opened five years ago, the property has been under construction, with new additions and renovations happening every year.

Red Lily Vineyards owner and winemaker Rachael Martin says her tasting room is all dolled up for the holidays, something you've probably seen if you follow them on social media. That's thanks to her son and Red Lily's marketing director, Riley.

“I got up in the beginning of 2019 and I would always do New Years goals, and one of them was fulfill dream of living on a vineyard and making wine or move on. During the month of January, googled vineyards for sale and this one came up and that’s how we got here," Brent says about the serendipitous adventure.

Winemaker and owner Joe Ginet talks about moving away from old practices in the vines, and instead pushing organic and biodynamic. He also shows off something new for the tasting room to keep guests warm in the colder months.

Supported by a long, warm growing season and diverse elevations and microclimates, Rogue Valley winegrowers cultivate more than 70 different varieties, ranging from cool-climate Chardonnay to heat-loving grapes like Tempranillo and Syrah. With this expansive selection and a creative group of winemakers, it’s no surprise that many Rogue Valley vintners are producing distinctive blends that pair two or more varieties in an unexpected, and ever-so-delicious way.
