Del Rio Vineyards started as Del Rio Orchards in 1907 during the "Fruit Boom" that put the Rogue Valley on the map as an agricultural mecca of the West. Decades later in the 1990s the Wallace family began the transformation of their family-farmed estate from orchard to vineyard. Del Rio is today home to 200,000 vines featuring 12 varietals and 17 clones. This year, Del Rio Vineyards turns 25 and now grows around 25 percent of the grapes in Rogue Valley Wine Country. Paula Bandy filed this excellent report on the Titan of the Rogue as it marks a milestone.
